About

Us and with our shop. We can't believe it's One!

Wanderlust is the brainchild of Vanessa and Dan Lurie (hey that’s us!). We started our traveling trailer business in September 2010 after being inspired by the over 600 food carts here in Portland Oregon.

Once we had the idea, we found our 1969 Cardinal Deluxe travel trailer on Craigslist and spent the summer building out the trailer and turning it into the perfect mobile shop. For nearly two years our shop on wheels has specialized in vintage goods and handmade accessories for you and your home. We travel to events like street fairs and craft shows, towing the trailer and selling our wares.

After starting as a strictly mobile business we moved to our first semi-permanent location in the Summer of 2011. In November of that same year, we moved to a new home on North Williams, alongside our fashion cart soulmate Lodekka. We loved being on Williams so much that we extended our hours and braved the rainy Portland Winter in our trailer shop.

In Spring of 2012 we stumbled upon an available storefront on bustling 28th Street next door to Holiday Hair, a new brick-and-mortar salon that was previously run out of a trailer. It seemed like fate to expand into a new storefront location right next door to another business that had just done the same thing. The trailer has stayed open on North Williams while we’ve built out our new retail space and collected more inventory.

At the end of June 2012 we will be closing down our location on North Williams, opening the new storefront and keeping the trailer for events (our first event is July 14th, the Mississippi Street Fair).

We are so thrilled with the different places this tiny trailer has taken us and we look forward to traveling to events with it in the future. Our new storefront is going to be beautiful and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Wanderlust, in Portland Oregon, is currently located on North Williams between Failing and Shaver, soon to be open at 2804 SE Ankeny Street (1 block South of East Burnside on 28th).

Follow Wanderlust on Twitter to find out when the shop will roll into your hood! Or send us an email at wanderlustmobileshop@gmail.com if you want to go sing some karaoke.

And YES, we do buy clothing. Our buying is by appointment only, shoot me an email at  wanderlustmobileshop@gmail.com to make an appointment. I'm happy to come to you!
